The RTA (Registrar and Transfer Agent) is the operational backbone of the mutual fund. It maintains unit holder folios, processes purchases/redemptions/switches, issues account statements, manages SIP mandates, handles KYC records, and provides investor service. The two major RTAs in India are CAMS and KFintech.
