EXPLANATION
SEBI permits creation of a segregated portfolio only upon an actual credit event — a rating downgrade to below investment grade or default on principal/interest payments. The AMC must create the segregated portfolio within 1 business day of the credit event and inform SEBI, AMFl, and unit holders. The decision to side-pocket requires trustee approval.
